The Central Bandstand has just completed its full refurbishment and is now open to the public. The site is now home to a Thorley Taverns Cafe Bar (Open 7 Days, 10am till 11pm (10:30pm Sunday)), a Beach Interpretation Centre, Ice Cream Kiosk and features bands in the summer months. After years of neglect the Bandstand is now back to its former glory and proved to be very popular during Herne Bay Festival 1999.
